Modern steel processing. Modern steel is made of varying combinations of alloy metals to fulfill the intended purposes. Carbon steel which mainly consist of carbon and iron, accounts for 90% of steel production in the world. Steel is one of the most recycled materials in the world. Almost 60% of steel is recycled globally. The recycling of steel has greatly contributed to the availability of steel in most parts of the globe. The modern steel processing started in 1985 with the introduction of Henry Bessemer's Bessemer process.
support for dishwashersSteel wire processing involves three main steps. In the first step, the raw material is melted in the electric furnace. The tank where the steel is melted has a diameter of 7.2 meters and a capacity of 150t. The liquid steel is collected using the EBT system through the bottom. After collecting the liquid steel, it is passed to the ladle furnace. Here, the liquid is adjusted by spectrometry analysis of the successive molten steel samples. Ensuing corrections are then done through the automatic additive system or by injection. Steel is then solidified by the continuous casting machine. 10 to 13 meter long square billets are obtained. The continuous casting machine has six strands with 8.5 meter radius.

These coils are used in different industries to manufacture products such as cables, cords, wires, meshes, springs, steel cords, bolts or tire reinforcing, and cold-pressed nuts.
We produce a wide range of items made of steel wire. Our products have no sharp edges to guarantee maximum safety, according to the UNI CEI EN ISO 13488 standards. Our products undergo pickling treatments to eliminate any debris from the refinishing processes, as well as other finishing treatments like electrolytic polishing and Rilsan or polyethylene coating.
Toffoli SpA is a certified company. As a matter of fact, we are UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 and UNI EN ISO 14001:2008 certified, and our materials are certified as well.
